Kountry luv is a charismatic love story presenting a colourful contrast of eastern and western cultures and values-systems. It’s a dramatic depiction of love and its capacity to transcend all barriers. It starts with two friends Jafer and Mubarik who leave Lahore for London to make it their home by establishing a successful solicitors’ firm. But now, after 25 years their reputation is at stake due to the mischievous behaviour of their spoiled sons Shawn (Jafer’s son) and Zack (Mubarik’s son). Fastest of the friends, the two brats are bred and brought up in London. They have no idea of what life is like in their fathers’ native land; Pakistan, until the two seniors plan to pack up and dispatch the two juniors to Pakistan as Jafer decides to keep his promise made to his late sister regarding Shawn’s marriage with either of her two daughters, Zoni or Samiya. Jafer informs the girls’ father Musharaf. Once there, the dare devils find it hard to come to terms with life in Lahore with all its ills e.g. loadshedding, pollution and corruption. Moreover, they feel cramped in the ultra-rich but extremely conservative Musharaf household. Taken by surprise and absolutely dejected, Shawn makes a knee-jerk decision! From here on, the story gathers momentum and after some tantalizing twists and turns, more like the streets of Lahore, it moves on covering and uncovering some new and old stories inside the Musharaf world until it reaches its climax. Shawn regrets his earlier decision. It is true that love is singularly empowering and overpowering. Once it strikes, it strikes to capture the heart, the mind and the world!
